Wikis are powerful tools. It gives you, the reader, the power to become an editor and writer. Nearly all of the text on this website is able to be edited by you. If you see an error, you can fix it. If you see an incomplete article, you can add your knowledge to it. And if you did not know about something, you can read on it. This is the power of wikis: community knowledge. Wikis are also everywhere! Many websites (particularly help ones) are adding wikis to their sites.
