Talk:Tips, tricks, and strategies

I'm not sure the second tip is really good. then instead of having to compromise your root password, they only have to compromise your account. This is easier than a root exploit since users are constantly running programs that access the internet. This technique will work, but I'm not sure we should be pointing it out to newbs who may not have the experience to gauge the security risk. Maybe an attempt should be made here to educate them or is that in the su page?

The tip was intended for short term use. It is much wiser to do that then type the password in front of a group of people. Also if you don't tell people about it, it is unlikely that they will know to login and run screen. goatmilk 10:40, 10 Aug 2004 (EDT)
